Eagle Celebrates the Life of Jonathan Greer, Vice President of Operations

It is with great sadness that Eagle Transport announces the passing of Jonathan Greer, Vice President of Operations, after a courageous battle with cancer. His dedication and commitment to the Eagle team and its many customers were beyond measure, as evidenced by his many hours traveling to and serving side-by-side with his operation teams and drivers.

Jonathan began his career with Eagle Transport in 1999, serving as the Terminal Manager in Greensboro, NC, then later promoted to Northern District Manager in 2001. In May 2015, he was named corporate Vice President of Operations. During his tenure, Eagle experienced tremendous growth and success, entering many new markets and business segments.

His humble, friendly spirit and unique sense of humor made him admired by all who met him. He never met a stranger and was known for finding a special nickname for many of his colleagues. He was most excited when he had the opportunity to stop and speak with working drivers while on the road and write personal notes to all new team members.

“Jonathan’s life and legacy at Eagle is truly a shining representation of our core values," President and Chief Operating Officer Lance Collette said. "His professionalism and dedication to our customers and team members were ever-present. He made such a difference in the lives of so many. We will all certainly miss our friend; however, the impact of his many years of dedicated service will live on.”

All of us at Eagle would like to express our deepest condolences to Jonathan’s wife, Sharon, daughter Kourtney, and the entire Greer family. We pray for God’s continued comfort and sustaining grace for you all during this difficult time.

A gathering to celebrate Jonathan’s life will be held on Friday, April 7, 2023, from 5 PM to 7 PM at Joyner's Funeral Home & Crematory at 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway West, Wilson, NC.
