How many loads does an average driver run in a shift?

Accepted Answer

Our drivers average three to four loads in one shift in the Petroleum Division, depending on the distance. Our Chemical Division drivers run local routes, regional routes (out one to two days), or super-regional routes (out eight to ten days) depending on the market they serve.

What types of trucks are used in the Eagle fleet?

Accepted Answer

Our Petroleum Division drivers drive Freightliner Cascadia and Peterbilt 579 day cabs, and our Chemical Division drivers drive 72” mid-roof Peterbilt 579 and Freightliner Cascadia sleepers.

Question 3

Are your trucks automatic or manual?

Accepted Answer

All Eagle Transport trucks have automated transmissions.

Do I have to have tanker experience?

Accepted Answer

Applicants must have at least one year of CDL Class A driving experience with a tractor-trailer within the past seven years or have graduated from an Eagle-Approved Driving School, meeting Eagle GPA requirements, within the past seven years (school certificate and transcript required).

Once hired, we have paid tanker-specific training for both our Petroleum Division and Chemical Division.

How long is new driver training?

Accepted Answer

For new petroleum drivers, Eagle provides a three-week training program. Our chemical driver training program is eight to ten days.

Question 6

Do your drivers share a truck (slip seat driving)?

Accepted Answer

Yes; one driver works one shift (day or night) in a truck while a slip seat driver works the opposite shift in the same truck.

Do you hire from the Substance Abuse Program (SAP)?

Accepted Answer

At this time, Eagle Transport Corporation does not hire from the Substance Abuse Program.
