Donnie Hines Promoted to Field Maintenance Manager at Eagle Transport

Eagle Transport Corporation is proud to announce the promotion of Donnie Hines to Field Maintenance Manager.

Hines has worked for Eagle in Selma, North Carolina, consistently since 2009, with an additional two years of service prior to 2009. He initially joined the team as a fleet service technician for the Selma maintenance team before moving to the service center team in 2011.

During his time in the service center, Hines was promoted to shop foreman to continue supporting maintenance efforts across the company. Eagle’s service center is responsible for preparing new tractors and tanker trailers for use throughout its footprint. They install technology, apply decals, and provide initial service to all new units to ensure uniformity across the Eagle fleet.

In his early days with the company, Hines worked with maintenance leaders and other technicians to extend the life of Eagle’s trucks on “Project RECON,” a partnership with Cummins Engine Company several years ago. Project RECON focused on installing factory-reconditioned Cummins engines into older tractors, then running those tractors through an in-house reconditioning program, allowing Eagle to extend the life of these tractors at a fraction of the cost of new tractors. This project ended several years ago, but Hines’ leadership throughout Project RECON left a lasting impression on Eagle’s leadership team.

“Donnie is uniquely qualified to take on the role of Field Maintenance Manager,” said Joe Phillips, Vice President of Fleet Maintenance. “He managed Eagle’s Project RECON program and later the Selma Service Center very effectively for several years, which has given him a great perspective on what it takes to operate a successful shop. Eagle is extremely lucky to have someone of Donnie’s caliber and skill set joining our Field Maintenance Management team.”

Eagle looks forward to seeing Donnie Hines apply his thorough knowledge of maintenance and his experience in project management as a Field Maintenance Manager, providing additional hands-on support to our terminal maintenance teams!
