Building Future Trucking Professionals

In November of 2025, Terminal Manager Ben Fiore of Tampa, Florida, represented Eagle Transport Corporation at the Greater Tampa Bay Area Council's Merit Badge Academy, where hundreds of Scouts gathered to learn about potential careers.

Fiore taught two classes for the Truck Transportation Merit Badge, providing a comprehensive, three-hour deep dive into the trucking industry and showcasing an Eagle Transport power unit with a day cab tractor and petroleum trailer.

"Truck Transportation is currently one of the rarest merit badges, ranking 128th out of 138 in 2024," Fiore said. "Having taught over 100 Scouts in the past couple of years, my goal is to make this a more popular badge. Merit badges are about more than just learning a subject; they are a vital tool for exposing young people to potential career paths."

The participating Scouts covered the "ins and outs" of truck transportation, discussing regulatory agencies, career opportunities, and industry terminology.
