Bryan Odell Retires After 38 Years of Service with Eagle Transport Corporation

Eagle Transport Corporation proudly celebrates the retirement of Terminal Manager Bryan Odell after 38 years of dedicated service.

Odell joined the Eagle team as terminal manager in Richmond, Virginia, in July of 1988, where he led for two years before being transferred to Tampa, Florida, and served as terminal manager for ten years. In 2000, Odell was transferred to Charleston, South Carolina, where he managed the terminal for six years before a short stint managing an Eagle location in Atlanta, Georgia. When the Atlanta location was closed, Odell returned to Charleston, where he has served as terminal manager since 2007.

His consistent leadership over the last 38 years has made Odell an important part of Eagle’s history that will never be forgotten. His impact reaches well beyond the terminals he has led, and his always reliable presence will be greatly missed. The entire Eagle Transport Corporation team wishes Bryan Odell the best as he celebrates his retirement and the end of a job well done.

Well-Wishes for Bryan in his Retirement:

“How did this happen, Bryan? Just yesterday, we were the young guys around here! You were always someone who could be counted on for an honest answer and a lengthy discussion of why something might possibly go wrong, yet you always made the correct decision in the end. You have been such a part of Eagle’s history, and I can’t imagine you not being someone that we all knew that we could count on to answer any question that arose because you had already dealt with it a thousand times. I will always cherish our memories from Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and the countless other states where you worked. It’s been a great ride, my friend. Thanks for all that you have done, and, above all, for the incredible friendship we have. Enjoy your time in retirement as you have certainly earned it. I don’t know of anyone who has poured their heart and soul into their job and lived and breathed it as you have.”

Herb Evans, Vice Chairman

“Over his 38 years at Eagle, Bryan always answered the call when needed somewhere, was always present during the tough days, and was a constant during a crisis. I will miss Bryan's lighthearted humor and wit on our Monday calls and his wonderful storytelling. Bryan’s retirement is not a sad day; we are all grateful for his time at Eagle and what he has left in all of us. We wish him love, peace, and the very best as he starts something new!”

Lance Collette, President and COO

“Charleston has been one of the toughest petroleum markets to manage over the last 20 years due to unstable supply from barges, two outdated and dilapidated loading facilities that shut down constantly, hiring competition from the Ports, Boeing, Volvo, and others. But Bryan Odell has been resilient in leading the terminal through all that adversity. It has been an honor to work with such a dedicated professional who was always willing to step up and lead the fight, no matter the challenge he faced. I don’t know if Bryan is the longest-tenured terminal manager in Eagle's history, but I can promise you he is the most reliable. Being on call for 38 years, working countless nights, weekends, holidays, covering extra shifts so his staff could have time off, and he never complained. He just got the job done. That loyalty has not gone unnoticed and is one of the main reasons he is so loved and respected by those who have worked with and for him over the years. Bryan’s leadership will be greatly missed.”
