Dispatcher – Port Everglades, Florida

We are continuing to grow our team at Eagle Transport Corporation, and hiring enthusiastic team members is critical to our success. The Dispatcher is essential for the smooth operation of Eagle Transport services. In this role, you'll collaborate with both internal and external customers, ensuring efficient service while promoting effective communication across departments

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Terminal Manager to identify and communicate any critical needs affecting daily terminal operations.

  • Schedule loads using the AS400 Dispatch System, ensuring all related paperwork is generated and delivered efficiently.

  • Maintain a flexible yet structured plan for daily tasks, adjusting as necessary based on business requirements.

  • Verify that all drivers complete daily logs in accordance with DOT rules and regulations.

  • Track and report on driver attendance and any factors that may affect their ability to perform duties safely.

  • Ensure all drivers complete Vehicle Condition Reports for each unit driven daily and distribute the necessary copies as required.

  • Confirm that all dispatched units are in safe working condition and free of significant mechanical issues.

  • Monitor and report any misuse, neglect, or abuse of equipment to maintain operational integrity.

  • Arrange for preventive maintenance with Fleet Service Technicians to keep the fleet in good condition.

  • Quickly and accurately report any accidents to the Terminal Manager.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration and open communication between the dispatch office and other departments.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in dispatching, logistics, customer service, or a related industry.

  • Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Prior experience with fleet management software is a plus.

  • Knowledge of the geographic area.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
